Five questions to consider before you build your brand
There will come a time in your business when you are wanting (and needing) more. You are growing quickly, and your visual representation does not match your customer service. As a small business owner, it is imperative to always put your best foot, and face, forward. When you hit this step, it’s time to develop your brand.
These FIVE questions are important to consider before you start to develop your brand and your marketing on a larger scale. Now, don’t stress about it too much, as. these FIVE questions are routine (along with about 30 more!) in my discovery calls with each branding and website design client.
It’s important to dive deep into the meaning of your business, learning what sets you apart and what your goals are for you and your customers moving forward.
So let’s dip our toes in and talk about FIVE questions to consider before you build your brand.
1. What is your unique story?
What will set you apart and create a community with your future clients? Why are you doing what you are doing?
2. What are your core values?
What do you want people to know and think about you? Is this a family business? Are you passionate about the environment? Do you have goals to build an empire?
3. What differentiates you from your competitors?
What are they doing that you like? What are they doing that you dislike? Why should people choose you over them? What can you do to position yourself as the expert in the field over them?
4. How are you solving your customer’s pain points?
What service are you providing to people? How can it help, support, grow and maintain their lives?
5. Who is your target audience?
How can you build your business around these people specifically? What do you need to do to get their attention, keep it and build a relationship moving forward?
SMALL BUSINESS OWNER HOMEWORK: Sit down and really go through these. Write them down and feel confident in your answers. These are strong questions for the pillars of your growing business.
